Lice eggs take 7-10 days to hatch. Once the eggs hatch, the baby bugs take 7-10 days to become adult bugs; which can then lay their own eggs. Those adult bugs live about 10 more days, and they lay about 10 eggs a day. If you have lice, you will immediately have a bug on your head. Even if you were exposed that morning, either you have lice or you don't. If we come to your home, we will find that bug. The adult bugs are the big ones and they look like this. We've got the teenagers, and then, the baby ones. The baby ones are really small and hard to see. The eggs are brown off the head, even though they are white on the head. That's something that people are confused about. They see something white, and think, "Oh my God, it's definitely lice;" but if it is white off the head, it's probably not a louse egg.
