Creativity is one of those incredible life skills that we actually need to teach kids. It is not innate. It's really important, even if we don't expect that they are going to become artists or musicians, it's good for math. It's good for science. It's one of those skills that will teach them to be good problem solvers and to become more resilient. We parents, can foster creativity in a child, simply by providing them with certain resources that they need for creative activities. Giving them time for creative play or to draw or anything artistic. To give them the materials that they need. That might be the art supplies or the big box of dress up. Then, to not forget that kids also need space for creativity. That could be a corner in your garage for dress up or a play area to paint a collage or a place in your backyard to put on plays.
