Let’s say that you want to upload your daughter’s ballet recital so that Grandma and Grandpa across the country can see that precious moment. This is a great thing to be able to do using technology. You just want to make sure you set it up appropriately. If you’re going to upload the video to a place like YouTube, you can either do it behind closed doors or you can set it up so you can turn off comments. When you upload videos to a place like YouTube, you have to understand that you’re going to get three kinds of attention. You’re going to get attention from people who say wonderful things, attention from people who have comments that aren’t so nice, and even potential predators. So make sure that you know what kind of attention you’re willing to receive. If it’s just from your family, and you can set it up so only they can see it, that’s going to be the safest way to go about it. You have websites like vidme.com and vimeo.com that allow you to share those private moments with just the people you want them to see.
