There's war, there's suffering, there's people starving, and your children know about it. How do you talk to them about it? Parents make this mistake over, and over, and over again. They ask the question "why?", and that question is unanswerable. What you really want to say to your child is, "Now that there is suffering, what next? What do we do?" There's a great word in Judaism called "tzedakah". Everyone thinks it means "charity". It doesn't. It means "righteousness", and what you're here to do on Earth is to make the world right, because it's unbalanced. There is suffering. So, that's the goal. Teach your children to be aesthetic, to be a righteous person. That's the lesson to learn from suffering.
