When your child doesn't stick with activities, it seems like you enroll them in this class, they don't finish, and this activity, they don't finish. You wonder, "How can I get my child to finish what they start?"
I think the first question to ask is; whose activity is it? Is it something that the child wants to do or is it an activity that you feel like it's important to do? While there are many things that we are going to need to do and finish, like school, when it comes to other kinds of activities. If we can find those that match the child's interests, then when they want to quit, at least there is some motivation to continue with it.
I think you can do many things. I think you can talk to them. What is it about it that's hard? What is it that's making you want to quit? I think you can set up some agreements with them. "How about if you go for two more times and see how things are going." You can talk about struggle. There's always a part, when you are learning something new, that its hard and you feel like it's harder than you can do. If you persist, sometimes you can get over those humps and you can develop those skills you want to develop.
