If you are grieving the loss of a stillborn baby, whether you have other children or not, please know that you are, in fact, a parent. Know that this grief takes a physical energy. Make sure that you are taking care of yourself; getting adequate rest, eating a healthful diet, having enough liquid everyday, and getting some sort of physical exercise. Know that you and your partner will be experiencing different feelings at different times. You will each be grieving in your own unique way. Be as patient as possible with one another. Know that in the future, if there are additional pregnancies or children, that it's very likely that you will feel a heightened sense of anxiety. Get support for yourself by other parents who have been through a similar kind of loss or seek outside support in whatever way is helpful to you, so that you can manage these feelings.
