There are many new and exciting ways to deal with scars, and depending upon the type of scar you have, you have many different options. For acne scars on the face that are depressed, they can be treated with lasers or fillers. If you have red or brown acne scars on the face, those can also easily be treated with different lasers to get dramatic improvement. Surgical scars, traumatic scars, or burn scars can also now be treated very successfully with different types of lasers, as well as injections. The most important thing is to get to your dermatologist early on with the development of the scar. The earlier it’s treated, the better the outcome tends to be. The one thing that you should keep in mind, though, is that while we can make considerable improvement in scars, we cannot necessarily erase it 100%. When choosing a doctor to treat your scars, it’s very important to choose somebody who has a lot of experience in this area, because there are many different treatment options. The other thing you want to keep in mind, is that it’s very important to keep all scars totally out of the sun, because sun will make them worse.
