What you need to know about nanny agencies is that they are not regulated by anybody. Anybody can open up a nanny agency, call themselves a nanny agency, and start to interview candidates and place them in your home. It's very important that you go with a nanny agency that is reputable, that's been around for years, or was maybe even a recommendation from a friend who had a good experience. A good nanny agency should save you a lot of time and a lot of stress. When you go about the search for yourself online, you will be inundated with all sorts of candidates, whether it be Craig's List or any kind of nanny agency. You will hear from so many different people and it will become very difficult. It will become your full time job. That doesn't mean you can't do it. It just means it's going to take a little bit longer. You are going to have to go through the background check on your own and being able to screen out people at the email stage, before you ever even meet them. Also, when you do go with a nanny agency, it is important to still check out those references and do a background check, just to make sure they are safe to be in your home.
