How did I get involved with all the GMO stuff? It was really reluctantly. I'm an unlikely person to be doing this, I came out of the finance world, my background was as an analyst, and one of the industries I had to cover was the food industry. When I traded that briefcase for a diaper bag and had these four small children, it was when one of our children had an allergic reaction to food that suddenly I'm looking at the food supply and realizing so much has changed. Here I was feeding my kids the same things that I had grown up eating, not realizing that the ingredients had changed so dramatically, and with that awakening, really is what it was, I realized that I wasn't the only one that was in a position like this. As countries around the world had this very vibrant dialogue around the changes in the food supply, these mothers in other countries were being informed of these very dramatic changes. We hadn't been given that same liberty, and that same choice here in the United States. It was then that I realized that it was going to be together, all of us really raising our voices in this dialogue, that we could start to create that change here.
