What's going on behind the scenes with teens and sexual intimacy is, they have a tier system. Right now, what happens is, you can go from just "hooking up" -- Kids love to just hook up, which is, typically, making out with someone. Then what will happen is, the next tier up from that is an exclusive hook up, which is just the two of you. You are not boyfriend and girlfriend. There's not a commitment, but you are not going to hook up with other kids. Outside of that, is you are official. That's when one person asks another person out. I think, additionally, what's happening behind the scenes is, that teens are becoming so desensitized to sex, as far as, they see it everywhere. It's not just on TV. It's online. It's talked about all around them. They begin to feel desensitized to the situation and the value of it. So I am seeing a lot of girls, especially, who are willing to have sex with someone, even if they don't care about them; just for the first time, just because it's what everybody does or it's not that big of a deal. It's just one of the steps she needs to get rid of on her way to adulthood.
