Talking to kids about sex can be really challenging. It's an uncomfortable topic for a lot of people, for them to talk to adults about it. It can make them uncomfortable, too. When talking to kids, it's important first of all, that we understand what their question really is and that we are not giving them more information then they are asking for. That's the first step, really getting clarification for them. It's important because we want to raise kids who, ultimately, have healthy sex lives. Part of that is being honest with them. Be honest with them about accurate names of body parts and be honest about what is really going on, as they need that information when they get older.
