Parents often wonder how they can help their special needs child be successful and go to college. The sad reality is that most special needs kids never do go to college and they never do graduate. Parents can make decisions from the moment their child is born, even the odds and make it more likely that they will graduate and they will go to college. Kids who are raised to be independent, problem solvers have a much better chance that they will go to college. Kids who are emotionally resilient and know how to get past life's road blocks with a smile on their face, are the kinds of kids who stand up and be successful in college. Kids who know how to be proactive. They can set goals and they can head towards their dreams, little bit by little bit. Those are the kinds of kids who will be successful in college.
