When a couple is going through fertility treatment together, I think as a guy, it's important to -- If you are not able to go to every single appointment to the doctor with her, I think it's important to go to the first treatment or any time that is consultation. Spend the time and be there as part of the participating. I think it's going to be helpful in understanding the process.
A lot of times, as a guy, we feel stressed out because we feel out of control. We just can't do the things that we need to do. A lot of times, we need to get some of that control back, to really understand the process better. Talk to the doctor. Say, "Listen Doctor, can I give you a call if I have any questions?" In fact, most of the time when I have patients to come into see me, I'll say, "If your partner has any questions, have him give me a call at any time." It's very important to develop that support or rapport with the professional.
During the daily life, it's very important to keep a certain sense of continuity. What I mean is, you've got to move on with your life a little bit. Yes, a lot of times, when you are trying to get pregnant, life is on hold for her. Try to make sure there are things you can move forward. You've got to help her move forward. Support and moving forward. That's my recommendation.
