It seems to be a recent trend that the sperm parameters worldwide is decreasing. There could be many different factors, maybe there are environmental toxins and pollutions. Regardless, I think for the male to really value their health status. I always tell my male patients to really look at their stress level. Stress plays a role in sperm production. Other things could be very simple like, staying away from hot tubs, long hot showers, tight jeans, tight pants, don't sit for a long period of time. Exercise. There is no real replacement for exercise. You've got to move. If you exercise more, you help the sperm get moving. Have a healthy lifestyle. The number one thing that kills sperm is smoking. You've got to get rid of that. Marijuana smoking is the worst. You've got to get rid of that. That's not going to help. Alcohol is a big one. Smoking, alcohol, and caffeine, you have to get rid of that. Caffeine is one where, initially, the sperm move faster a little bit, but if you drink caffeine long-term your sperm gets fatigued and tired. These are lifestyle changes that you can do immediately. If you have a sperm count issue, try to see a reproductive health care professional right away.
