When you're deciding to become a parent through assisted reproduction, it's really helpful to consult with a mental health counselor who is an expert in the field. There are so many layers emotionally to this process, choosing the donor, choosing whether you are going to use a donor, whether the psychological issues are between you and your partner, if you are using his sperm, but an egg donor; or your egg and a sperm donor. If there are two men or two women; who is going to go first. All of those psychological issues. It's really important to talk to somebody that can help you sort through the process, once you begin it, with clarity and are really ready to take it on.
