Homeschooling can feel overwhelming if you try to do everything at once. So, for me to stay organized when I homeschool, it's easiest for me to just try and do a little at a time at the start of each school year and then build as we progress. And so, since we're still in the younger kid stage, the grammar stage, we focus at the beginning of a school year on writing, reading, and math. And we get that down for a few weeks, and then we incorporate things like history, and then maybe, art. And then some other extra-curricular, and then science. Instead of trying to just start the whole year with a bang, and then we just burn out within a few weeks, and then we're so discombobulated with "Okay, what page do we do here? What worksheet goes here? What do I need to print?" It's just basically easing my way into the year as a parent. The other thing I do is really make use of online resources. There's so many great websites, online courses, things like that that don't require a lot of paperwork, and can be self-paced, and student-led, and so there's not a lot of prep work that a parent needs. And so that keeps me a lot more organized. And as a parent who's done both traditional school and homeschool, I will say honestly, I've been surprised that there's less paperwork homeschooling than there is with a traditional school. And so, honestly, as long as you keep the clutter at bay as you go, it's really not too hard to be organized when you homeschool.
