The reason for the rise of ADHD in America, I believe, is due to the environmental factors, such as, toxins. Toxins as in pesticides. Pesticides kill bugs by paralyzing their nervous system. Imagine, cumulatively over time, you'll have all this neurotoxins in your body, you are going to be affected by it. Kids, in particular, are more easily and that's why focus and concentration is affected. Secondly, we look at the diet of American kids. We see lots of sugars, carbs, artificial flavoring, artificial coloring; and all of that contributes to a decrease in the ability to focus and concentrate. The sugar crashes. That doesn't hold up. Artificial flavoring and coloring have been shown in studies to affect brain focus and concentration. Thirdly, I think we are distracted. Kids have many digital distractions. As a result of that, it contributes to the ability to sit and focus on a target. That is an issue that I think schools need to look at and give a different way of getting them information.
