Being a parent of a teenager is definitely a challenge. Having consequences that they know ahead of time is probably the best way to discipline them. In other words letting them know what you expect of them when they go out with their friends, for example. When they’re not in your presence, they should know exactly what type of behavior you expect and they should also know what kind of consequences they can anticipate if those behaviors aren’t met. Then there’s no surprises and there’s going to be less conflict, less tears, less of a stress for mom and dad.
