Just beginning the divorce process is a really painful time. What's important is to keep the children separate and away from the problem. If there is ever at time to be a grown up, it is now, during the process of a divorce. Making sure that the child comes first, really comes first. Making sure that, every step of the way, you are motivated by what's best for the child. You can't keep it away from the child, the stress that you might be feeling, but what you can do is make sure that your child knows, "Yes, mommy is having a hard time, but I'm still here for you. I'm strong and can take care of you, no matter what."
