When I educate parents, there’s a difference between the criminal justice system and protecting your kids. What I need to prove in court is different than what parents need to protect their kids. And so one instance where the defendant is saying it was an isolated situation – that may play well in a courtroom and that may be a defense in a courtroom. But from a parenting perspective, I don’t think any parent cares if their kid was only touched one time or a 100 times. One time is just too much. So for the purposes of parenting, all sexual assault is the same.

In addition to advising numerous legal foundations, Robin regularly shares her valuable insight and expertise through speaking and teaching with members of the FBI, Los Angeles Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, and the California District Attorney’s Association. Robin has served as adjunct professor of Women and Crime at Cal State Los Angeles and lecturer on criminal law and the justice system in UCLA’s Paralegal Training Program.
