I do have to deal with some sibling rivalry. I think I started with a really solid foundation. My daughter was just two when my son was born and I was still nursing her. We tandem nursed for two years. Having that time together, sharing that time together built a really strong solid foundation for us. Now, as they are older, I just can't get involved in their bickering. It makes me frustrated and I can't solve their problems. They need to solve their problems together. When they are having an argument, as long as there is nothing dangerous going on, if one of them and comes in with a problem; I will listen to them. I will validate their feelings and then I will say, "Did you tell your brother that you don't like to be hit?" "You two need to talk about it. You two need to work it out." Most of the time, I can tell them, "I'm confident you can work it out together. You control you, and you control you." And they usually do.
