My advice for moms starting and growing their own business is, again, it's about setting expectations. Running a business, it's a marathon, not a race. And if you stumble at mile one, doesn't mean you're not going to get to the finish line. It's a long hole. And knowing that it's okay if you have a day where your kid is sick, and you don't get any work done, it's fine. In the bigger scheme of things you can still get to the finish line. To use another analogy. running a business with kids it's a roller coaster not a carousel. And so there's going to be real extreme highs, and extreme lows. And to get comfortable with that pace because that's the reality of running a business and having kids. And your kid is going to get sick the same day you lose your biggest client. And your going to close your round of financing the same day your kid hits a home run. And that is the life of being a startup mom. Because of the first two items, you definitely want to find a support network. Other working moms that you can talk to, support groups, startup groups that you can talk to. It's a lot to put it all on your partner to be the sounding board for all of your business stuff. And so find a great support group to help you through the highs and the lows of starting a business. And the final one, and this is something that I've just learned recently, but I love it, and I've started using it everyday, is to have a mistake ritual. Owning a business really, you're going to make tons of mistakes. You're expected to, as a business owner. That's the only way you're going to grow. And so find a mistake ritual that works for you, so you can forgive yourself for the mistake and go on to grow your business.
