Flame retardants is in many of the products we have around us, and we may necessarily not suspect, especially chlorinated tris is found in furniture, in items that are made of form. So things like nursing pillows, car seats, strollers and even sofas, if it's made from foam. So, the way to avoid it is to try to find products that are made from natural ingredients, such as cotton wool and natural latex. Lastly if possible, try to avoid products that comply with California CB 11, which is a law that states that, flame retardants must be used in products that contain foam. Now the industry has really done a lot to try to take certain categories and make it not part of the CB 11 role but it still a work-in-progress. So, as an interim 50 measure ideally look for products that aren't not compliant with CB 1. It seems kind of backward, but it's the better option for the health of your children.
