Transcription:
I think the best way that a child can support a child surviving the death of a parent is acknowledging that a huge event that is. That it's possibly the worst thing they will ever go through and taking care of yourself. I was devastated and I had to get healthy and strong, so that I could help my kids. Be willing to talk about it. It's a terrible event. Some kids want to talk about it and some don't. You have to be receptive their needs. Some want to go to counseling, some don't. You just have to give them time. It's a process that is never-ending, because every birthday, every graduation, they are going to feel the absence of their father. You have to be prepared for that. Even the happy times are going to be tainted a little bit.
