Nurses can become a parent´s best ally because they are the frontline in your child´s clinical care. They provide 24 hour, around the clock care to your child during their hospitalization. Nurses are wonderful sources of information and teaching. So for example, parents can get really nervous about participating in their child´s medical care while their child is in the hospital. It is totally new. They do not know how to give different medications or clean certain areas, so what you can do is talk to your child´s nurses. And they can help you learn how to provide the medical care. Oftentimes, parents are very scared about providing medical care to their child while they are in the hospital. Nurses are a wonderful source of information about this. Go to your nurses and ask them how to provide the care, how to give the medicine or how to do the best side care that nurses do. By learning how to do this, you become an active participant in your child´s healing process and you also comfort them by being involved. And it takes away some of the stress and anxiety around the medical care that your child receives if you understand the proces
