I guess in a one line answer it would be, don't sweat the small stuff. That's easier to say on your third child than your first, but things that you worry about, unless they are really serious issues which there will be. A lot of times, when you have a newborn and you are worried about; where should I go to Mommy and Me class? Can they miss a nap? Where will they go to Kindergarten? Those things work themselves out and you spend a lot more time worrying about them than they really require. I find that, on my third child now, that very often when I'm not worrying about things, they just work out. I did say to my husband that I would like to write a book about, how to raise your first child like your third. I look at how much more well-adjusted my third is from not getting all that crazy attention all the time and worry over every move she makes. She's the one that comes in and says, "It's bedtime now. Will you come and put me to bed?" I never had that with my first one.
