One of the best bits of advice that was ever given to me as a woman, as a mother, was to "not do guilt". And a friend of mine said, "It's a choice, just don't do guilt." I was like, "What are you talking about?" He says, "You can't beat yourself up about everything." I know as a woman and as a mother, we're going through this journey. It's never going to be perfect. We're going to make mistakes. One of the reasons that I share so openly and my life is such an open book is because I have no shame, and I have no guilt attached to the things that I've done wrong, and I really, really believe in learning as we go. I believe in giving ourselves a break. I think we need it. I think it's never going to be perfect. I think as mothers we're always doing the best we can, and there's always another mother out there who's doing it better than you are. Always. So, it is a choice. It is a deliberate choice and a practice. Don't do guilt. I'm not a judgmental person. I really, really try to the best of my ability to never judge any other mothers. It's so easy. I used to be that woman, that single woman in the airport, watching the other kids on the floor thinking, "My kids are never going to be crawling around the airport floor." Now, I'm traveling with four kids. You know what? I've had an occasion where my kids are crawling around on the floor. We never know what we're going to do in a situation, but I think that we can't pass judgement on ourselves. We can't be judgmental to ourselves. We have to uplift other women. We have to give ourselves credit. We have to give ourselves a break. And it's really those words, just "Don't do guilt." There's nothing to gain. It's toxic. It's toxic. It's negative, and I think, just be prepared to make a lot of mistakes, and learn from them, and find your own way, and don't beat yourself about the rough, little bumps in the road, because it's all part of the journey. And guilt, it's just... It's meaningless.
