Sometimes we do love our kids more than our husbands. There's an old joke that if the boat is sinking and there's only one lifeboat, who are you going to take with you, your husband or your kids? Most moms would say their kids. It's not that he's not valuable. It's not that you may not feel the hot, exciting romantic love that you felt in the early years. It's because your bond with your kids is so strong. Your bond is so strong with your children. But it's important to remember, you wouldn't have your kids without him. And that it is a little now, a triangle of love. The love goes across to him, from here back to you, both of you down to the children. If you find that you're losing connection with your husband by not spending any time together because with your very stressful life, you've been attending to the kids and attending to work, then I would say it's time to carve out a little bit of time in your life to grow your romance again. But the romance will never be what it was when you were first dating, because now you're both having a big old romance with your kids. And that's okay and it's absolutely normal.
