Transcription:
You raise a well-mannered child by example. It goes beyond "please" and "thank you." The child has to see you, and it has to be enforced, that thinking about other people and being thoughtful is very important. Learning to be a part of the household, setting the table for his chores, making his bed, feeding stray cats, taking food to the homeless. These are all things that help them learn that the world is beyond them, and that it's not just about them. It's about helping them to realize that, "No," is a complete sentence. I don't need to defend it. I don't need to explain it, "no," is "no." It is important to be consistent. It's much easier to let things go, but saying "no" to whining, saying "no" to tantrums, and saying "no" to being spoiled, is very important. Most of all, know that if you model good behavior for your child, they will see what is expected and rise to the occasion.
