It's really important to clean your bottles really well between each use. Especially these days, a lot of the bottle we use, they're a little fancy and they have these discs and multiple parts that are very easily for formula to get kind of gunked up in. So you really gotta be careful that you're cleaning all the crevices. And the best way to do that is to get a bottle brush because a normal sponge can't always get to it. So bottle brushes are a wonderful thing to use. The other thing to remember is when your baby's a newborn, you might want to sterilize all your bottle parts daily. This can get really frustrating if you're trying to do this on the stove, even though that is an option, old-fashioned sterilization by boiling the parts on the stove. But another more modern convenience we have are microwave sterilization bags, if you have a microwave. You can use these bags, they're often marketed for pumping moms for pump parts. But you can use them just as well for bottles. And you just stick all your parts in, put a little water in, zap 'em in the microwave and you're done. And then, the other last thing I'd say is if you're traveling, you always want to bring your bottle brush with you, and it's also great to bring a little sample of dishwashing detergent because if you're on the go, you don't want just use hand soap to clean your bottles. Oh, and then one last little tip is that if you have a bottle drying rack, it makes life much simpler because you don't have to be grasping around for different bottle parts, some are in your dishwasher, some are on your counter. You have everything right in front of you on the counter in little compartments.
