Exercise can have a great affect on postpartum depression in two ways. One is if you join one of those great mommy and me exercise classes. You naturally have a support system built in. So there's other moms who are going through the same experiences you are. A body that they don't recognize, sleepless nights, screaming babies. So you have that support system where you don't feel necessarily as the way you thought you would about your baby; everybody's going through the same thing. The other component is the natural release of adrenaline and endorphins when you exercise. And those are things that are going to improve your mood, make you naturally feel happier, and turn over that you're going to feel happy about your body and about your baby.
