What dads need to know about a mother's sex drive after baby is that for the first six weeks, she'll probably be exhausted and sore. Also, if she's nursing. Nursing can reduce estrogen, which in turn, will reduce vaginal lubrication. It may be uncomfortable for her to have sex during nursing. If she's had a vaginal birth, that can also change the tone in the vagina, which can reduce pleasurable friction for both people. Don't worry, she'll get that back with some pelvic floor exercises. Psychologically, she may be feeling like she doesn't know who she is anymore. She may be spending so much time taking care of the baby, she might not be as connected to her role as a wife and a sexual being. Also, all the time she spends with that baby close to her body, she may feel like she wants some time to herself, by the time you get home in the evening. Be patient with her. Don't worry. Things will get better. If she's not feeling up to sex, there are other ways that you can be intimate together.
