How to Keep the Magic Going Each Christmas

girl writing letter for Santa

Christmas is a delightful time for everyone, but in the eyes of a child, this season is magical. There’s nothing more exciting for kids than to open a gift from Santa. For younger kids, there’s no problem convincing them that Father Christmas is real. But, as they get older, keeping Santa’s magic becomes more of a challenge.

Now isn’t a time to fret because here are some ways to keep Christmas magic going each year.

  1. Write a personalized letter to Santa. If you haven’t yet, help your child write a letter to Santa. This will not only give you an idea of what your child wants this year for Christmas; it’s also one way for your kids to hold their beliefs in Santa. You can use regular paper, purchase writing packs, or print a ready-made template from online.

  2. Create a personalized Santa reply for your child. Your child would surely want a response from Santa. For a fee, you can purchase a customized santa letter to be sent to your child. This letter will include a seal of authenticity from the North Pole, including an envelope, which will surely amaze your kids.

  3. Video call with Father Christmas himself. With today’s technology, most kids depend on technology in many of their activities. In keeping with modern gadgets and devices, there are apps that will enable you to personalize a video call with Santa Claus by adding your child’s name. Imagine how surprised your child will be.

  4. Bake Christmas treats together. Whatever treats you like for Christmas, try baking these with your kids. Not only will it add bonding time for you and your kids; it will also make memorable yuletide memories that they’ll fondly look back on.

  5. Create decorations together. Depending on the age of the children you have at home, you can always find a simple or complicated Christmas ornament project for you to do. Whether it’s simple draw and cut or crocheting ornaments, either is fun and magical.

  6. Decorate your Christmas tree. Whether you’ve chosen to make decorations, or you’ve bought ready-made ones, involve your child in this simple yet meaningful activity. While you’re at it, you can prepare delicious snacks for your family to enjoy.

  7. Mark Santa’s footprints. Make Santa’s presence known when he sneaks into your home. Create Santa’s footprints by the fireplace and wait for your kids’ surprise when they see these marks!

  8. Make Santa keys. If your kids are worried how Santa can get into the house if he doesn’t have keys, make special keys that you can hang on the door during Christmas.

  9. Give reindeer some food. Don’t forget the reindeers that drive St. Nick’s sleigh. Have your child create reindeer food with oatmeal and some sprinkles. Have your kids sprinkle these outside before they go to bed.

Final Thoughts

Keeping Santa Claus real is a challenging art that many parents choose to deal with. With the given tips above, you can help your kids hold their beliefs for St. Nick until they’re older. Until then, enjoy each Christmas you spend with one another. More than any gift you can give your kids are the memories you make with them.
