So you let your daughter have a pacifier too long or they started creeping into your bed at night and for a while it seemed okay, but now you want to get rid of it. How do you deal with it? Take a deep breath, and realize there's almost no bad habit that can't be broken in 3 tough days. They'll be tough days , but if you really stick with it, chances are you can break it. The older they get, the longer it's going to take to break that habit. So by the time they're tweens, it's going to be a full-on week, but trust yourself that you've made the decision to change the habit. And you have to stick with it, because once you waffle, they know, and it's not going to be 3 days. It's going to be 3 months.
