Camp Grandma is an idea I came up with. When my son was about 8 months old, wasn't sleeping through the night and I thought it would be impossible to ever get to a place where I could leave him overnight with someone else. So, it became my goal to reach that by the first year milestone. So, my concept was that, at 1-year, I would be able to leave my son overnight for one night and I would add a night every year leaving him with his grandparents overnight so that by the time he was 7, my husband and I would be able to take a one week vacation. And, I did it. So, I'm happy to share that with you, but also to share that it's really hard and you have to let go. You have to know your parents can wake up with your baby overnight or a babysitter that you hired. And, everybody is gonna live through that first night and you will get a chance to have a little vacation. So, I recommend Camp Grandma if you have grandparents who are willing participants and do it at your own house so that your baby is comfortable. You don't have to pack him up and take him somewhere else. You'll be more comfortable that way. And just set that goal to reach that milestone by the end of the first year.
