Transcription:
When I was a first time mom, I had no intentions of exclusively pumping. I was going to nurse. My son had different ideas, however, and couldn’t latch. So I started pumping breast milk. And after about 8 weeks I realized, “This is working for us.” I got my body to a point where I could pump at my convenience, rather than nursing him on demand, he was getting breast milk, other people could help me with feeding. So by the time my daughter came along, it was a no brainer – I chose to pump. We had found that’s what worked for our family. It’s not for everyone, but I would definitely tell you to consider your options – there’s flexibility with it, your baby gets the best of both worlds and chances are with a bottle in hand other people are going to be able to help you with those feeding needs.
