The biggest misconceptions and myths about drug addiction I think are we feel that there are only certain kinds of people who become addicted. They kind of look like addicts, the kind of people you see walking down the streets, the homeless people, the kind of people who are delusional, psychotic. We feel that we are immune. We feel like our kids can be protected because we are good parents, because we live in a safe environment, they go to a good school, they have friends. Anybody can become addicted. And it is something that is hard for people to accept until it happens to them because over and over again I hear people say this could never happen to my child or I thought this could never happen to my child until it does.
