I would say most people know acupuncture by its pain relieving properties. This is also where we get most of our patients. In fact, we have a program through our university in Children's Hospital, where we treat children's chronic pain. There's all kinds of pain that we see in kids, ranging from broken arms and legs and things like that. My daughter just recovered from a broken elbow from snowboarding, right? So we treated that very effectively to help reduce pain and promote healing. Acupuncture can drive, specifically, calcium into the bones. So in this case, it really helps heal broken bones. In the case of muscle pain. We can reduce inflammation due to muscle spasms. Then we have pain like migraines. Kids have migraine headaches. That's a vascular problem. In other words, your vessel is in a spasm and it's causing a blockage and pressure will rise because of that. You can also regulate the smooth muscle which lines the blood vessel. You can relax to get the blood flowing again. Acupuncture is effective for all varieties of pain.
