Kelley King has been a K-12 public school educator for over 25 years with work in the areas of school administration, gifted education and special education. Dr. David Palmiter is a professor of Psychology and Counseling at Marywood University. He is a practicing and board-certified clinical psychologist, a past president of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, the author of over three dozen publications, including two books on promoting resilience in youth, a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (true of < 6% of psychologists), the American Academy of Clinical Psychology and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association in youth. He has also given hundreds of workshops on family issues for organizations such as The Navy SEAL Foundation, The Master Therapist Series at the University of Connecticut, The American Psychological Association and the McGraw-Hill Financial Group and completed hundreds of media projects for outlets such as CNN, The New York Times, US News and World Report and the Wall Street Journal. Devoted to children and education, Ms. Bowers served and has served on a number of boards. She is currently on Board of Overseers of the UCLA Healthcare System, on the founding board of the African American Board Leadership Institute and the board of the FEDCO Charitable Foundation. She just completed serving as Chair Emeritus of the Board of Directors of the California Community Foundation. A past president and former secretary of The Educational Records Bureau Board, Reveta Bowers was also a member of the Advisory Board to the Klingenstein Center at Teacher’s College for ten years. She served as an outside director on the Board of Directors of the Walt Disney Company for ten years and is a former member of the Harvard-Westlake, Brentwood and Windward School boards. Reveta was on the Council for Spiritual and Ethical Education board, and the boards of the National Association of Principals of Schools for Girls and the Country Day Headmaster’s Association. She served as a trustee and treasurer of the NAIS Board, and as past president of the California Association of Independent Schools. Cynthia G. Whitham, LCSW, Director of the UCLA Parenting and Children’s Friendship Program, has been training parents for over 30 years. She is the author of two books, Win the Whining War & Other Skirmishes: A family peace plan, and The Answer is NO: Saying it & sticking to it, which have been translated into nine languages. In addition to her UCLA group classes, Ms. Whitham has a private practice on the east and west sides of Los Angeles. In 2000, she spent a month training clinicians at the National Institute of Mental Health of Japan. A lively speaker, Ms. Whitham does presentations and trainings for schools and organizations. Ms. Whitham raised two happy, healthy, and (relatively) well-behaved children (she thinks that may be the best credential of all). Daughter Miranda McLeod is a fiction author and is in a PhD program at Rutgers University. With sadness, Cynthia tells us that her son Kyle died in 2007, within months of graduating from San Francisco State University.

Nathalie Kunin has extensive experience teaching, tutoring and educating parents on how to help their children succeed academically. She founded Team Tutors in 2000 to provide students with one-on-one tutoring and comprehensive test preparation in their own homes. She works closely with students of all ages as well as many private and public school administrators throughout Los Angeles and the Valley.

Nathalie taught for five years at the Center for Early Education, where she also served as president of the Parent Association and as a member of the Board of Trustees. She is currently on the Executive Board of the Beverly Hills Education Foundation, which serves the Beverly Hills public school district.

Nathalie lectures frequently on current educational issues and learning styles. She is an expert on the “eight styles of learning” and conducts assessments on children of all ages so parents can learn how their child processes information. She also consults privately with parents about their children’s preschool through high school academic issues. In addition, Nathalie is a frequent contributor to LA Mom Magazine.

Nathalie was born and raised in Los Angeles. She received her bachelor’s degree at UCLA and completed her Master of Education at Cal State Los Angeles. She is the mother of two school-aged sons.
