Pre-term labor is when you have contractions before your due date, before thirty-seven weeks, that result in a change in your cervix and a dilation in your cervix. If you're experiencing contractions that are regular and you are doing things to prevent that by hydrating and relaxing and they still continue, then you need to notify your doctor right away. We don't always know the cause of pre-term contractions, but infections seems to be one of the more common causes of pre-term contractions. Whether or not you know the source of why it's happening, get off your feet, relax, drink some water. If they continue, you need to notify your doctor right way.
