What is the goal of child therapy? All kids are programmed to grow and develop through certain stages in order to become the person they ought to be. In some kids, they will hit a block and not be able to move past it; or skip past a couple of steps and need to go back and re-do those in order to develop correctly. When this happens, it comes out as behavior. They might start acting out, get sullen, rude, or withdrawn. I've had a number of cases where I've had kids go home, do their homework perfectly, take it to school, and don't hand it in, for weeks on end. When something like this happens, it means that there is something off in their developmental process. They need to go and work with somebody to help them get back the path they are on, in the way they need to be; so they can become the person they ought to be.
