A pimp is looking for a package. A package is a lonely, alienated young lady who tends not to have parents or people who are going to protect her. Sometimes pimps will work with catchers that are taxi cab drivers, parking lot attendants, security guards who will identify a package and then deliver the package to him under false pretenses, such as maybe, “We’re going to go to a rock and roll concert and we have to go to this guy’s house to start.” The pimp will then perform something known as a deep quiz, where he’ll ask her a series of questions such as, “Why are you wearing those shoes? Why don’t you have nice shoes? Who dresses you like that? Where’s your daddy?” And children and young women tend to be their own worst enemy where they say, “I don’t have a daddy. I don’t have anyone to take care of me. I just have my grandmother and I just care about my grandmother and my little doggy.” That gives the pimp the information of what he needs to be able to manipulate her into prostitution. That’s the beginning stage. So a pimp will use that in terms of saying, “If you don’t do what I want you to do, then I’m going to kill your grandmother,” or “I’m going to kill your doggy.” And he’ll use that as a motivation to get her involved in prostitution. It’s called a deep quiz; it’s a very frequent skill that’s used by most pimps because they’re not looking for a child that’s going, “My dad’s going to come kill you because you’re talking to me,” or “My big brother is going to beat you up, so you better let me go now.” They’re looking for kids who are vulnerable, who don’t have any resources or anyone to stand up for them.
