I know when my daughter went through her teenage years, I know that in retrospect - hello, as people who had never had kids - who were telling me, when my gut would have a feeling about something. I think about the people who said, oh it's nothing. It's just teenage years. If your gut says something is off, it probably is off. I feel that parents have, and this makes all the sense in the world, it's an evolutionary imperative - a parent's psyche produces insight. You have a natural wisdom. So what I would say is trust your gut. And if particular during adolescence teenage years, if you in your gut feels something's up here, something's not right, even if your reason says, oh, that's ridiculous, there's nothing to be considered about here. And we all know teenagers get really good at fibbing, at the least, if your gut says something is wrong, something is probably wrong.
