I have dealt with two children who have had addiction issues, and it can be very, very difficult. It's hard to lose a child, I have lost a child physically in this life time, but you can also lose a child through addiction. Hanging on the belief that recovery is possible and supporting our young people in what ever path they find to that recovery. I have two sons who have been in recovery for a long time - what they call long-term recovery from substance abuse issues, and both of them found their way to that recovery very differently, but it's about supporting what works.

Shannon CrossBear is a beautiful, powerful, spiritual Ojibwe and Irish woman.
