I would say to anybody who has a child in early childhood, move whatever mountain you have to, do whatever you can to spend that time, any time you have, preferably in real play time, real bonding time, before the age of 5. In my work, I'm very into motivating, trying to inspire women to go out there, to be socially active about the planet, about the corruption of America's food supply, and inequality, high incarceration, etc., However, I always say, except those of you who have children in early childhood. You get a pass. Because we should be supporting in any way possible, on a personal level, on a business level, on a societal level, doing everything we possibly can to help those who have young children be with the young children. Everything that the parent gets in with the child before the age of 5. The parent is, in a way, almost the child's sole universe. Anything you get into a mind of a child before 5, it's there for keeps. anything you don't get into the mind of a child by 5, you're still their primary source of information, but you're no longer basically the sole source of information. It's so much harder than if as parents and a society we were just really present for this profound thing called childhood while it's happening.
