A lot of parents really question when their child is ready to move from an infant car seat into a convertible car seat. On your seat, there are stickers that the manufactures posted and usually the weight restriction is about 30 pounds. You can check on the seat and you can also check on the instruction manual to what those requirements are. When your child is 2 years old, that’s the general time that we would like to turn our baby around to forward pacing. That’s all because of spine and neck development. When they’re under 2 years of age, they just don’t have the muscle tone in their neck to support them if they stop suddenly or you’re involve in a crash. That can cause permanent or even fatal injuries.
