When I decided to become a parent, I knew that being a parent would mean sacrifice. I always wanted to be a veterinarian that owned a private practice. I did become an owner in a very lucrative practice. But when I decided to have a child, I decided to sell the practice and continue to work there. That allowed me to cut back on my hours to spend more time with my children. However, my compensation package was severely diminished. This, to me, was worth it.
