Transcription:
I became aware of The Greener Parenting Movement when I was pregnant with my third child. I already had two kids. They were 8 and 10 at the time. We had done things like growing some of our own food. I was aware of different ways to be greener, but I never really thought of how it specifically affected the health of my children, until I was pregnant with my Cloe. I learned about organizations such as, Healthy Child, Healthy World, The Environmental Working Group; that really opened my eyes to the fact that there were chemicals in many of the things that I thought were safe; in their food, the cleaning products I was using, the air fresheners that I was using to give a different smell to my house, all the way down to the shampoo that I was using to wash their hair. All of these things had potentially toxic chemicals in them that I could very easily avoid if I knew about it. Once i started becoming aware, that's when I really decided I need to do something about it. I became, an activist, kind of, for this, what we are calling The Greener Parenting Movement.
