Sibling rivalry. The thing about sibling rivalry is that it is normal, it is natural, and it's inevitable. Even if parents do everything right, you are still going to have sibling rivalry. Because two kids in a family, they fight. Sibling relationships are so interesting because they live in the funny waters of love and hate; they love each other and they hate each other. The reality is it means more to you than it does to the children. My advice is about sibling rivalry is very simple. Here it is; butt out. Here's what I mean by that. When a parent gets involved in sibling fighting, he tends to be in the role of judge and jury. When that happens, inevitably, you are showing favoritism towards one child or the other. We don't want that to happen. Stand back, listen to what's happening, or if you can't stand the noise, go in your bedroom and close the door, that will stop it right away. Stand back and listen. If it is something that they really need help in solving, then you can get involved.
