The first day of Middle School, for many students, is really frightening. The one thing they are really, really scared of is getting lost. What you can expect the first day of school is for them to be very, very nervous; and for them frightened. However, before the first day of school, Middle Schools offer an orientation program about one or two weeks before school starts. That day, they will probably get their books, their locker, find out where their classes are located, and a school map. What you can do to have them be comfortable on the first day of school is to have them walk from where you are going to drop them off to their first class. That way, they know that they will get to their first class on time and they will feel a lot better. You also want to make sure that your child has all the materials they need; pens, pencils, paper, a backpack, everything that they would need to be successful from the first day of Middle School.
